A TEENAGER was allegedly attacked by eight men who hit him over the head with hammers and metal poles.

Shocking pictures of Harry Diamond, 16, show his head dripping with blood just moments after escaping his attackers.

The "popular" youngster, from Tunbridge Wells, was treated in hospital for his injuries after the alleged assault in Tonbridge Park.

He had only recently recovered from surgery after having a tumour removed from his neck.

Today his mum Nicki Rogers posted the disturbing photos of Harry on Facebook in a desperate attempt to track down the assailants.

"We will find out who did this," she told the Kent and Sussex Courier.

"Two years ago Harry was very ill in hospital with a rare illness which he is still battling everyday, having had a large tumour removed from his neck."
She added: "We just want Harry to get well and he is currently making a very speedy recovery. He is so strong and went back to school today to study for his GCSEs.

"I have never met such a lovely, caring, popular boy."

She described how her son had been hit so hard that two of the hammers he was hit with snapped off.

"All my son was worried about was that he would miss his GCSEs today bless him," she added.

Kent Police confirmed they were called to reports of a brawl at Tonbridge Park at shortly before 7pm on Sunday.

Officers attended the scene but were unable to locate anyone reported to have been involved.

An hour later a teenage boy was reported to have been taken to hospital following an assault. Cops are investigating whether the two incidents are linked.

Detective Chief Inspector Neill Parker from Kent Police said: "Incidents of this nature are very rare in Tonbridge, but any violence on our streets will not be tolerated.

"We are carrying out a number of enquiries including reviewing CCTV and if you have any information that can help us please get in touch."
