A WOMAN who lost her iPhone in the sea got it back a month later — and it still worked.
Stacey Sarre, 47, dropped it on a beach and it was swept away.
But the iPhone 5S was found buried in sand by Mihal Stratulat with his metal detector.
He dried it out and it flickered to life two days later.
He was able to see who it belonged to and called Stacey.
The phone is in full working order despite a month in the water off Gorey beach onJersey.
The mum of two said: “I lost it while walking my dog. I was wearing my husband’s jumper and it has really big pockets.
“I didn’t realise I had dropped it.
“A woman let me use her phone to track it and I saw it was out at sea.
“The water was up to my knees and I thought ‘I’m not going out to get it’.”
The phone’s GPS tracker showed it was coming in and out with the waves – so Stacey threw in the towel on her search.
Stacey believed the phone was gone forever and bought a new one — then Mihal called.
His wife has told him to bin the phone as it wouldn’t turn on.
He “couldn’t believe it” when it started working again after two days.
Stacey is chuffed to have her phone back.
She said: “Nothing has been lost and it works just as before. How amazing is that?”
